The Provincial Workplace Health Contact Centre services British Columbia Health Authority employees (defined as those with health authority employee numbers) by providing assistance in reporting new employee’s Health Histories, Blood and Body Fluid Exposure Follow Up, Communicable Disease Exposure and Outbreak Management, Incident Reporting, and providing information regarding WorkSafe BC claim requirements. 

The Occupational Health Nursing Team assists in:

• Assessing baseline immunity status
• Evaluating vaccination requirements based on recommendations from the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC)
• Referring employees to local services for obtaining required vaccinations
• Follow up for blood and body fluid exposures

The Communicable Disease Exposure Management Nurses also work closely with Medical Health officers, Public Health, Infection Control, local Occupational Health Nurses and Managers within each health authority in the management of communicable disease exposures & outbreaks.

The Incident Reporting Team is trained to transcribe employee's report details of:

• Workplace Incidents & Injuries 
• Near Miss Incidents

These reports are assessed to determine if a claim is required with WorkSafe BC.

Requests for other Occupational Health and Safety Services are managed by the local Workplace Health Teams.
