Web-based Incident Investigation Tool
Over the past year we have been working in partnership with the local Workplace Health & Safety Teams within each Health Authority/Agency to improve the ability for Managers to complete investigations within the 48 hour timeframe required by WorkSafeBC.
With the new Web-Based Incident Investigation Tool, Managers and/or their delegates can initiate an investigation prior to the employee reporting to the Provincial Workplace Health Call Centre. This enables investigators to make sure they can complete the investigation as soon as they are made aware of the incident. To maximize the effectiveness of this tool, all managers are encouraged to take some time to add their team members who can investigate incidents to their investigation tool as delegates.
Adding Delegates will ensure:
- Investigations can be completed during all operational hours
- Investigations can be completed while the manager is on vacation
- Investigations can be completed within 48 hours from the time the incident occurred
